BRING. Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 October 2026

This policy explains how the BRING. browser extension and its connected services handle your information. We use data to provide BRING.'s features, keep them reliable and respond to support requests. We do not sell your personal data or use it for targeted advertising.

Information we use

  • FACEIT data. Public player identifiers, nicknames, profiles, match statistics and, for friendship searches, public friend lists. Requests to FACEIT and BRING include the information needed for the feature you use, such as a player, match or search target. Where available, public match recordings and derived gameplay data are processed for match analysis and heatmaps.
  • Account and settings. If you sign in through FACEIT, we store your public identity, BRING. session, account activity and synchronized preferences, including custom callout text. We use temporary activity status for aggregate online counts. A BRING. badge can show other players that your account is registered. We do not collect your FACEIT password or send your FACEIT session cookies to BRING.
  • Local files. Imported backgrounds stay in your browser unless you explicitly submit them to the gallery. Submission sends the file, thumbnail, title, category and your identity for review. Approved files become public with your nickname; the published file may include its original audio even though BRING. plays videos muted.
  • Content you submit. Comments are public with your author identity. Reactions and player tags are linked privately to your account; other players see aggregate results. Support requests include your message and account identity. Sending a bug report also sends limited technical diagnostics, independently of the Telemetry setting; suggestions do not include that diagnostic snapshot.
  • Stream widgets. If you create a widget, we store its settings, linked player and recent statistics. Anyone with its private viewing link can view it.

Product analytics

Telemetry helps us understand feature use and fix errors. It is enabled by default and can be turned off in Settings → Appearance → Telemetry, separately in each browser. Firefox also requires its optional data-collection permission. Main features remain available when telemetry is off.

Analytics may include feature actions and errors, random installation identifiers, extension version, browser family, language, time zone and available profile country. Signed-in events can be linked to your FACEIT account and activity across browsers. These records are not fully anonymous.

When an expected interface element is missing, telemetry may also include fixed diagnostic categories, expected/found element counts, rejection reasons, the page section, document and match state, and how long the element was missing. These diagnostics do not include nicknames, player or match identifiers, page URLs, HTML, page text or screenshots. They follow the same Telemetry preference and PostHog processing as other analytics.

We use PostHog for product analytics. The extension does not record browsing sessions or send chat history, page contents, passwords, background files or support messages as analytics. Turning telemetry off stops new events and clears unsent local analytics; it does not delete events already received.

Sharing and external services

Information is processed by BRING. and the hosting providers needed to operate it. FACEIT provides account authorization and game data; PostHog processes analytics under its privacy policy. Network requests expose ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, to the receiving service. Public content is shared as described above. We may also disclose information where legally required or necessary to address abuse and security incidents.

External links lead to services with their own privacy policies.

Storage and retention

  • Local preferences and files remain until you remove them or uninstall the extension.
  • Account settings, reactions and analytics identity links have no automatic expiry. Comments remain until deleted; limited technical records may remain after deletion. Some shared public-data caches and friendship-search totals also have no automatic expiry.
  • Detailed BRING. analytics are kept for 7 days and daily aggregates for 30 days. PostHog has separate retention; these limits do not apply to its copy.
  • Support reports are kept for up to 90 days; player tags for 90 days. Pending gallery files expire after 14 days and are deleted if rejected or withdrawn. Published gallery files and submission history remain until removed separately.
  • Where available, public match analyses are kept for up to 30 days and shared map-veto histories for up to 180 days.
  • Stream widgets expire after 30 days without a connection; their ELO history is kept for 7 days.

Your choices and contact

You can disable individual features or telemetry, sign out, delete local backgrounds and your comments, and remove your reactions. Signing out or uninstalling does not erase server-side account data, published content or previously accepted analytics. Deleting a local background does not withdraw a gallery submission.

For privacy questions or requests to access, export or delete your information, contact bring.faceit@gmail.com. There is no automatic in-app account deletion or export control.

We will update this policy when our data practices change and revise the date above.
